Playing in the garage!

Austen went into my car in the garage the other day and took these photos of Grace and her boys, all over my car! Austen was inside the car; the cats were outside.

Grace likes to lie on the hood, especially if I have just come home from somewhere. Audace and Ruse just need to inspect everything, frequently leaving little kittycat prints all over the place. Funny what interests them!

Merry Christmas!

It's the kitten-cats' first Christmas and they have been having a wonderful time -- at the Linehan house, where all the action is! They got a new package of peacock feathers (and have currently demolished two of the ten!) as well as some new kitty grass to grow. But the best fun of all was playing in all the wrappings and ribbons.

Merry Christmas to everyone. We hope your day is as wonderful as ours is.

We're there -- http://youtube.com/group/kittymoviemonday

I've already posted that link here -- "movie 1" in the post below. But I can't resist adding it to the KMM group, too!

Hilarious morning play

These guys!

Today they rediscovered a couple of boxes and some stuffing paper that have been lying around for a couple of weeks. What made these things intriguing today, I guess, is that it was so much fun to lose some little toys in the big boxes (and find them again!) and that the crinkly paper makes a wonderful sound when a kitty jumps and skids and plays in it!! Here are links to two movies showing their spurts of craziness: movie 1 and movie 2.

More snoozin'

Grace and Ruse were snoozing peacefully next to each other the other evening, when Audace decided to join them -- that is, barge right in between them, lie down, and stretch out ... and stretch ... and stretch! All three just snoozed away for another hour or more! They do like to be close together!

The fascinating garage!

Audace and Ruse have discovered what a wonderful play place the garage is -- with the big door down, of course! They love to wander around and sniff the smells of the outside world that are out there. Making little cat footprints all over the car is another favorite activity, especially if the car is wet and their footprints are rather muddy! (That's as muddy as these two get!!)

Then they found the nice, soft, old chenille bathrobe I had folded up and put out there when Indy wanted to play in the garage. She liked to curl up and snooze out there, sometimes for HOURS! Now these two have discovered it, and they think it's a great place for naps, too. Such funny boys!

Snoozin'

Here are all three, snoozin' together for once. As usual, Ruse likes to curl up and be as close to his mommy as possible, while Audace likes to be close by but stretched out!

These guys are growing so fast, Grace will soon be the littlest one in the family!

Gone visiting

This past week, Audace and Ruse went visiting at the Linehan house. Audace is especially entranced by Cabbie, the BIG BOY! And Ruse likes to hide behind the Christmas tree and watch the outside world go by. It's certainly a different view from that at home!

Our condolences

We are all very saddened by the news of precious Piper's unexpected death early this morning.

http://isfullofcrap.com/oldcrap/2006/12/emergency.html

Not much is more heartbreaking than losing a precious pet, and the longer they are with us, the harder it is when they go off to Rainbow Bridge.

Our deepest condolences to Laurence and Gina, Nardo and Frisky.

Our Monday movie

Here's our movie for this morning's Kitty Movie Monday:

These guys are usually ripping around here like whirling dervishes, but this particular evening, they were very calm for a while. Amazing.

Kitty grass

Ruse and Audace really love their new treat -- kitty grass on the kitchen island. Well, it's the only thing that can be kept on the kitchen island these days; they'll knock off anything else, even each other sometimes!

Grace inspected the grass, but doesn't seem as taken with it as her boys do -- and of the boys, Ruse is more likely to go back again and again.

Funny kitties!

Tummy Tuesday!

Here's Audace, snoozing under the being-decorated tree. Needless to say, while he was snoozing, everyone stopped decorating and left him alone!! He needs his beauty sleep, you know!

Kitty Movie Monday

Here's our entry for this week:

Usually it's Ruse who finds a new box to play with, but this time it was Audace. They're making sure they're not predictable, I guess!

on Thanksgiving Day

After a strenuous day running up and down the stairs and all over the place at Austen's house, the kitten-cats had to hide and snooze. (If they don't hide to snooze, then the younger kids find them!!) So here they are, hiding (they think) under the partially decorated Linehan tree!

They also partook of some turkey, but they're still figuring out that they can make a whole meal of it, not just a tiny snack!!

Minds of kittycats!

Grace and Ruse were relaxing on top of the couch the other day, when suddenly Grace turned around to watch something. It was Audace, who in turn was very intently watching something outside. Who can ever understand the minds of kittycats? Surely, not I!!

Recovery

It's taken all week to get this computer back together. My son-in-law, Ken, ran the recovery CD which essentially wiped out everything on the hard drive and reinstalled Windows. Then of course, Windows had to update itself umpteen times -- and one nice result is the installation of IE7. I like the tabbed browsing feature best of all! Then Tuesday and Wednesday and Thursday were spent getting all the programs re-installed --the ones I care about, that is. I also was praying that all the data backed up on my Seagate external drive would work -- and it all did. Hooray!

Audace and Ruse had to help, of course, and Grace just kept her distance! Audace (above) was inspecting all the nice noisy things in the closet in this room (strictly an office, cannot serve as a bedroom without MAJOR changes!). Ruse (below) is fascinated by any open window, so that's where he settled himself. For once, it was Audace who was getting into stuff, and Ruse who was being the nice boy!

I'm sure happy to have everything back ... and cannot thank Ken enough for his patience and know-how.

Big crash!

On Monday, this computer crashed -- completely. Ken got it all working again by using the recovery CD (the only option since the hard drive was totally unaccessible). So I've spent the past two days putting on programs and restoring data from my back-up drive. I found out today that my last back-up was on October 24. Memo to self: Back up more frequently!!

I lost some cute pictures and one movie that didn't get uploaded to YouTube. So I'll start over today. I got a couple that may be worth posting -- how the kitten-cats were "helping" me while I've been restoring stuff on this computer!! LOL =)

Helpful when visiting!

While Audace and Ruse were visiting the Linehans yesterday, they were very gracious about helping to sort out some Christmas garland -- shredding, biting, and just generally spreading it all over the floor in the dining room!

And by the time they got home last night, they were two tuckered out little kitten-cats. Their mommy joined them as they all curled up together for hours of snoozing. Whew! What a day!!

Major playtime!

Yesterday around noon, all three cats were having a ripping good time, racing around the living and family rooms, in and out of the play cubes, up and down the climbing toy. They were VERY funny. In the first photo, you can just barely see Ruse's face as he peeked out from under the red cube. His little toy is right there, too.

In the second photo, Grace is just waiting for those boys to come tearing back. Throughout this whole play session, she mostly stayed inside one cube or another, and the boys were running around and through the cubes. It was very entertaining!

I have a video of this posted at YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ex1rokuWNLA

Enjoy!

Kitchen time

After eating and drinking, Ruse and Audace make themselves quite at home on the kitchen island -- which can no longer be used for food preparation unless these guys are absent for some reason! They do like to hop up there and relax and clean up after a good snack!

Grace is graciously sharing the water bowl. She still has her boys' best interest at heart, although lately the "play" has been getting a bit rough. I'll have to glue my camera to my wrist so I can get some photos of those little tussles!

From October

Grace and boys LOVE open windows, until neighbor-cat Henry Jack (another beautiful ginger cat) comes around and tries to claw his way through the screen in order to visit these three!

Audace likes to be in contact with someone while he snoozes! Ruse, however, usually likes to be nearby, but not touching -- unless it's his mommy or brother! Funny guys!!

September

Audace and Ruse learned lots of things in September: where to find a nice private place to take a nap (high on top of the kitchen cupboards!), where their food came from, how to play on their multi-level scratching-and-jumping toy (Austen was teaching them!), how to play in the water, and how to play with and in a box until it's in shreds.

What active little boys! And what a patient mommy they have, not to mention their servants!

Wow! It worked!

... and with photos, now, too.

Here's another test -- this time with Ruse and Audace baby pix! (Ruse above; Audace below.)
