New spot
Audace has discovered a new spot from which to watch the world - and sometimes our neighbor's big orange tomcat, Henry Jack. Ruse and Grace have found this windowsill, too, but Audace seems to like it best. He also likes the window near the front door, and Ruse likes the windowsill in my office. Grace still prefers HER spot on the top of the couch!

The other evening, Audace demanded ice for his water bowl. I obliged, and then caught some cute pix of him playing with the ice, under the watchful eyes of Ruse! I think Anne's right: Everything's a toy!

Dinah’s kittens are starting to open their eyes. What little beauties these kittens are!

Catch-up Monday
We know we haven't posted much lately. We've been VERY busy with kid-beans' activities, including getting our oldest kid-bean (Austen) ready to begin Summer Band at his school. This year he enters high school, so he has to be taught everything there is to know about marching in a band AND playing his clarinet (new music, of course!) at the same time! We also had to make sure the littlest kid-bean got to her swimming lessons on time for the past two weeks, and then we had to make sure they were sufficiently entertained (read: kept busy) for the rest of each day. Whew! Lots of hard work on all of us, kitties and mom-bean.
So now we can relax a bit. Here's how relaxing is done correctly!

Chasing little frogs!
As a result of all the rain and rain and rain we've had for weeks and weeks (too much hyperbole there, ya think??), we have frogs, toads, and bugs galore outside. Thank heaven for windows and glass doors so my little pals can have the thrill of the chase without actually catching anything!
Grace and Ruse were really after this little frog on the outside of the back door, but to no avail.
Pretty soon Grace left, and Ruse was losing interest! It's only fun if they are really catchable, I guess!

Audace eats dinner
When Audace decides to eat dinner, the others back off! Then he lies there on the floor next to the food dish, takes a bite of food, drops it on the floor or the mat, and THEN he eats. What a funny cat!

Lazy Sunday
So far, this is a very lazy Sunday! And these photos show my view from the office chair on a very frequent basis. First, Ruse usually comes in and curls up right under the chair itself; then Audace will come into the room, looking for his pal, no doubt, and then he'll stretch out right next to Ruse. Sometimes they even snooze so they are mirror images of each other with maybe just one foot on each guy in contact with the other. Such brothers!!

Sewing snoopervisors & thread lovers
I've been trying and trying to get a couple of little dresses sewn for Kira, but all this "help" makes it difficult. Grace gets right up there where the sewing machine needle is, and I'm afraid she'll be sewn into the dress! Ahd then, whether I'm at the sewing machine or not, Audace and Ruse like to lie all over the sewing table and take naps. Another of their little tricks is taking a tiny bit of thread in their mouths and running into the other room, while the thread is coming off the spool at a faster and faster rate. What twits!
I guess I'll have to close the door whenever I'm sewing, then put everything away before opening the door again. Of course, everyone knows you cannot have any closed doors in a house with kitties in it!

Mundane Monday!
We were offline all weekend -- dratted ol' Comcast anyway. I think I'll explore AT&T and see if they'll be more reliable. Comcast is very fast, but not reliable -- and three 30-40-minute periods of time on hold is just ridiculous.
Ruse snoozed under my office chair, though, whether I was at the computer or not!
Audace went back to his favorite of favorites for a nice, undisturbed snooze ... well, until I snapped these pix, anyway!
And Grace made sure her little feeties were nice and clean!

Another new climbing toy
As Austen was assembling the newest climbing toy to join the furniture in our house, he had a full crew of snoopervisors!
Audace was especially vigilant!
Time out for a little rasslin' while they waited.
Ruse had to check it out when it was about half done.
The final product! They're still exploring and deciding if they like it or not.

July Fourth
Here's how these three precious jewels spent Fourth of July -- snoozin' and groomin' !!!
UPDATE: I was surprised. The fireworks didn't seem to bother Grace and crew as long as I was in the room with them. When I moved from room to room, they followed me. When I went to bed, they came, too! Once all the boom-booming was over (some time before 4 am!), they went back to their relatively independent ways!!
