Last night, Audace hopped down from his snoozin' spot on the couch and waited in the middle of the floor for Grace to come over and give him his evening bath! It was all very civilized. He just lay down and waited ... and she obliged!

New toy!

Anne found this wonderful kitty jungle gym the other day, and I asked her to get it, get it!! These guys need all the entertainment possible.

Audace has a great time batting around the little mice that hang from different sides. They're always in different places each time I pass by!

Ruse loves it, too, although I haven't caught him with the camera yet. Both of these guys have been all over it, inside it, jumping from it, attacking each other around it, etc.

Grace just looks on!

Still snoozin' like little commas ... until the camera flash wakes them up!

Ruse takes over!

Sometimes I return to my computer chair to find this! Ruse has taken over, and he's so big now, he fills the entire seat! I used to be able to sit on the edge, and he'd stay put, but now that he's full grown (or nearly so), if I sit down, he leaves!! Just as with paper bags, he wants all of it or none of it. Funny little guy!

Ruse hogs the paper bag!

Ruse really loved this paper bag - loved it so much, it's now in shreds (in the trash, too). But he had a wonderful time while it lasted.

I'm posting links (below) to a couple of short movies, too. Enjoy, enjoy!

Tag, Grace! You're IT!!

Emma tagged Grace to tell seven random facts about herself. Below are the rules to play by: "Each player starts with seven random facts about themselves. Cats who are tagged need to write on their own blog about the seven things and the rules. You need to choose seven cats to tag and list their names. Don’t forget to leave them a comment that they have been tagged and to read your blog!"

Here goes:

1. I like to snooze, preferably on a high place so I can survey all my territory.

2. I snooze lightly, though ... the better to keep an eye on my rowdy boys!

3. When I eat kitty grass or catnip or catmint, I love to bury my face in it before chomping.

4. Stinky goodness first thing in the morning is the BEST way to start a day.

5. Ice cubes in the water dish are great fun, and so is a barely running faucet in the bathroom.

6. I love it when my bean holds my face and gives me a kiss on my nose.

7. I also love to roll over and have my wonderfully soft tummy rubbed ... and I'm teaching my boys that this is a good thing, too.

Grace tags anyone else who hasn't already been tagged.

Summer's a-comin'

Audace and Ruse (in the paper bag) are getting all ready for their snoozes in the warmer (sometimes hotter) days of summer, and so is Grace. They're seeking out all the cool spots in the house. No longer are they satisfied with the warm snoozing afghans and mats and blankies all over the place, so I guess I'll get those all washed and put away until next winter.

They also seem to sense that I'll have little-beans at our house more frequently than usual. One of those little-beans is taller than I am, but they love him anyway. The other two little-beans are noisy and move faster than the rest of us, so these kitten-cats are wary of them. Grace doesn't seem to care, one way or another.

For anyone who has little-beans who will have extra time on their hands for about ten or twelve weeks, starting pretty darned soon, my newest blog has some ideas for them.

Measuring - with a little success

Here's Audace with the ruler behind him. I don't think I'll do any better than this. I did manage to measure tails, though. Grace's tail measures 10½" long, and each boy's tail measures an even 12" - so imagine what Audace's true length is when he stretches completely out, including his tail. He's amazin' huge!

Measuring the boys

I've been trying to put a 12" ruler next to Ruse and Audace (separately) to show how big they've grown. Audace, especially, is turning out to be a BIG cat. Someday he may be as big a boy as his idol, Cabernet! Ruse is slightly smaller and lighter than Audace, but not by much.

Well, they're not at all co-operative. They can be sound asleep nearby, but when I very quietly lay the ruler by one cat's back, he suddenly comes awake and starts to play with it! The bite marks on both ends are quite apparent. I'll keep trying, though. And they'll keep playing!!

For Tummy Tuesday - Grace!

Here's a rare shot of Grace's tummy. And she was so zonked, she didn't even move when the camera flashed! Funny girl!!

Snoozing spots

I think these guys are getting ready for warmer-weather snoozing! Last year as babies, they slept anywhere they happened to drop, but this year, they seem to be more deliberate about finding favorite spots. Maybe the warmer weather is inducing some of this "discovery and experimentation," too, who knows!!

Here's Ruse, hidden away in a corner in the office.

Here's Audace, under the sheet covering one of the chairs in the front room. Only his tail is visible!

Here's Audace as he peeks out from under that sheet.

This will be amusing as they find their favs!

The latest as of last night

These two guys still like to snooze withing touching distance - occasionally, at least. Here they are, right near my computer chair. I didn't dare move it, so I took a photo instead to wake them up!

Ruse wouldn't look at the camera, bad boy!

Audace is a BIG boy and seems to get bigger each day. He's larger than his mommy in every way -- length, height, skull size, weight. But he's such a fun-loving, playful, good-natured guy.

And speaking of big boys!! Here's "uncle" Cabbie who thinks he's hunting lizards. Actually the lizards are on the outside of the Linehans' bathroom window, between the window itself and the bamboo blind on the outside. They must like the shade there, and Cabbie loves to watch them. He spends LOTS of time on or near the bathtub, just in case he can ever get to them, you know!!
