MomMarilynn has posted some neighborhood photos of the past week -- the first week after Ike. We all know how fortunate we are -- no damage, water's fine, power finally restored after 7½ days. There are millions in the Houston area who are nowhere near recovery. And please don't forget about the pets affected by Hurricane Ike.

Oh, I went and looked at the pictures. What a mess! I'm so glad that you were not hurt and your family is okay! Thank goodness your house survived as well. Poor little pine trees, I hope that they rally!

We're very glad you're all OK. Mom loved the picnic photos! It reminded her of the big Black Out when she was a girl and some of the activities they did to stay busy.
We followed the links and saw all the damage. We hope those poor animals get re-united with their owners, or get loving forever homes.
We're so glad you're all safe and have electricity again. We take so many things for granted until we don't have them - even temporarily.

We are so glad the HSPCA is allowing people to foster the lost and injured animals. Poor babies are probably so afraid.
