For the people who crochet, here's an easy and very useful item for shelters everywhere -- KITTY AFGHANS!
These are simply single Granny Squares, but made with 16-18 rows, not just 4 or 5. I used Lion Brand Yarn's "Tweed Stripes" which creates the variegated look, but you can use any worsted-weight, non-wool yarn in any color, make your own stripes, or make them in solid colors.
And finally, you can make these any size you want so they can be used for kittens, adult cats, puppies, adult dogs ...

My human has a couple of old, unfinished afghans - she should separate the squares and do this.
Yes, and I think those who can knit could make similar items -- simply knitted squares, perhaps in a ribbed pattern. And, of course, people with sewing machines can dream up small quilts or other squishy, comfy, and warm items!
Those afghans are so pretty.
They are beautiful.
As we are the kind of humans with two (or more) left paws, we won't be making these ... but hope many others will as our shelter friends need cozies and such as they wait for their forever homes.
What a wonderful thing to do. You rock.
Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. ♥
Hi guys, they are absolutely gorgeous, sadly the P.A. is completely useless with knitting needles and at crochet - oops! MOL
But we're loving these little afghans so much, just epic, thanks so much for sharing! XOX
The afghans look absolutely adorable. They would be perfect for little ones in need of some comfort. Thanks for the share. Have a wonderful day.

Such beautiful afghans! Thank you for all you do for shelter pets!
They are really nice. My Dads Mom was an obsessive crochet person and he just found a big box of squares. He may have to put them together so they are cat sized
